Non -standard Soviet Army tags, possibly of a regimental variety (see 1914-18 tags page for WW1 equivalent)

Standard issue Red Army bakerlite "tube" ID tag. (earlier (WW1) equivalents were made of wood). Personal details were written on paper and rolled up inside this phial which was carried in the pocket.

Bakerlite tag with top unscrewed to show method of insertion of details slip. This particular example has the slip still in situ, but , unfortunately, it's too fragile to remove.
